![Slow Sunday Simmer
Bone Broth is my go-to liquid gold. A great way to boost nutrient intake and nourish the body with many health benefits. Simmered low and slow for 12- 48 hours extracts goodness from bones. Easy to make if you have some time - also more affordable than expensive premade cartons and powders.
Once cooked, cooled and wobbly, skim off any fat on top - it stores in the fridge for a few days or portion in the freezer. Easy to use for cooking meals, soup base or as a warming drink on its own.
Many cultures have their own way to simmer bones for a delicious broth and practice low waste nose to tail eating. Bone broth is a staple in TCM can help boost and replenish Qi [ our life force], blood, yin and essence.
Today after slow stretchy Yoga class I am slow simmering a warming spiced oxtail bone broth for a quick weekday after work pho dinner.
